Utilizo-a para mudar extensões de ficheiros, ver que ficheiros são (com a maravilha que é o file), copiar ficheiros para algum servidor com o scp, you name it! Se é preciso invocar comandos no Terminal, então o DTerm é para se usar!

Ainda para mais, para o invocar é só carregar Maçã+Shift+Enter e aparece-nos a janela a flutuar já dentro da directoria em que estamos (no caso do Finder) ou na nossa homedir. Depois até podemos usar os mecanismos de auto-complete semelhante à bash para escolher ficheiros ou uma combinação de teclas que coloca na linha de comandos os ficheiros selecionados:
